Kottke on Blogging
I don't think anyone would have been crazy enough to quit their job to blog full-time. Most people wouldn't think there was a way to make money off of that. Jason Kottke was a web designer previously and soon, he had enough support from readers to join a network and design web sites once again. A lot of people looking to get into new media should look up to this man. Making a living by just keeping a blog is dream for many, but a reality for few.

Interestingly, Parade Magazine this week carried their annual "How Much Do People Earn" feature and the one professional blogger on the list -- a local sports blogger-- pulls in only $19,000 a year. Not encouraging.
